Meeting with Advisor at Al-Diwan Al-Amiri of the State of Kuwait Dr. Abdullah Matuq Al-Matuq

Today, at the Palace of the Nation, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon received Dr. Abdullah Matuq Al-Matuq, Advisor at the Al-Diwan Al-Amiri of the State of Kuwait and Chairman of the International Islamic Charitable Organization and Representative of the Secretary-General of the UN for Humanitarian Affairs.

During the meeting the two sides discussed prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the International Islamic Charitable Organization.

The expansion of cooperation with the International Islamic Charitable Organization of the State of Kuwait is important, noted President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and highlighted that attracting Kuwaiti investments is useful for the implementation of economic programs in Tajikistan in the areas of small and medium-scale energy, non-ferrous extractive metallurgy, light industries, as well as in the sectors of construction, agriculture and communications.

It was emphasized that by attracting Kuwaiti investments it is possible to also implement effective projects in the areas of exploration and mining, agricultural, livestock, poultry, fish production, production of building materials and establishing production of high-quality drinking water in Tajikistan.

A constructive discussion took place on the development of bilateral cooperation in the spheres of science, education, culture, health, tourism, including participation in projects for the construction of schools, health facilities, and the necessary tourism infrastructure in the scenic regions of Tajikistan.

The two sides exchanged views on issues of elimination of consequences of natural disasters that hit some regions of Tajikistan, as well as on reduction of the impact of financial and economic crisis.

At the end of the meeting the sides have confirmed their willingness and interest in bringing relations to a qualitatively new level in the areas of mutual interest.
