In the evening of May 20, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon held a meeting with the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in Riyadh of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The current state and prospects of multi-faceted relations between Tajikistan and Egypt were the main subject of discussion.

At the beginning of talks, the President of our country Emomali Rahmon said that we look with optimism at the prospects of friendly relationships with Egypt, we consider Egypt one of the core countries in the region.

President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah al-Sisi highly appreciated the peacekeeping and leadership talent of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and, in particular, stated: "We have special respect for your personality and exemplary aspirations."

The sides stressed the importance of launching of a Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Technical and Scientific Cooperation.

Special attention was paid to the development and expansion of relevant cooperation taking into account the abundant water and hydropower resources of Tajikistan.

Mentioning similar damage that the two countries face in their modern history, such as from terrorism, extremism, double standards and external interference, the sides expressed interest in exchanging special information and experience of mutual anti-terrorist activities.

At the conclusion of the talk, which was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, the Head of State Emomali Rahmon invited his counterpart, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to pay an official visit to Tajikistan at his convenience. The invitation was accepted with pleasure.
