Condolences of the Leader of the Nation to the family and relatives of the people's poet of Tajikistan Mumin Qanoat

People's poet of Tajikistan, the laureate of the Rudaki State Award and the USSR State Award, the corresponding member of Tajikistan's Academy of Sciences Mumin Qanoat has passed away at the age of 86, on May 18.

The President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon expressed his condolences to Mumin Qanoat’s family, relatives and friends on the poet’s demise.

The President said, in particular, in his telegram:

"Mumin Qanoat made a significant contribution to the development of modern Tajik literature. For many years he worked as chairman of the Writers' Union of Tajikistan, chairman of the Republican Committee for the Protection of Peace, deputy chairman of the Public council of the Movement for National Unity and Revival of Tajikistan, deputy chairman of the Committee on State Prize of the Republic of Tajikistan named after Abuabdullo Rudaki.

Different generations of Tajik writers received spiritual food and grew up in the rich, kind and loving creativity of Mumin Qanoat.

His wise words and patriotic works will forever remain in the memory of the people”.
