On September 1, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and Dushanbe Chairman Rustam Emomali attended the opening ceremony for the administrative and educational building of the Institute of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and took part in an event dedicated to the Day of Knowledge and Lesson of Peace.

The institute, which can accommodate 1320 students in one shift, aims to train personnel in the field of public administration, public service, retraining, advanced training and practice of public servants.

Currently, 2567 students, of whom 1214 are undergraduate and 277 PhD students, as well as 737 students in second education, 339 in distance education, are enrolled in the institute. To date, more than 620 civil servants have graduated from the institute.

In the academic year 2018-2019, 352 students and undergraduates graduated the institute, of which 34 received honors degrees.

In the first half of 2019, the institute's pedagogues published 16 books and monographs, teaching aids, including the book "School of Public Administration of Emomali Rahmon: Issues of Formation and Development" in two volumes, as well as more than 300 scientific and popular science articles.

Following familiarization with the conditions created in the institute, the President Emomali Rahmon praised the construction work and gave specific instructions to the institute’s management, relevant ministries and agencies and other responsible persons.

This was followed by a meeting with the teachers, undergraduates and graduate students of this higher education institution in honor of this significant event and the Day of Knowledge.

He emphasized that in order to train highly qualified personnel, increase the intellectual potential and develop human capital in the public service, as well as for the scientific analysis, quality and effectiveness of public administration and service, the need arose to increase the status of this institution.

Therefore, he proposed transforming the Institute of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan into the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The head of state noted that this step was taken in order for the academy's teachers to improve the quality of professional training of leading personnel in the civil service, which will contribute to the implementation of the policy pursued by the government.

According to the President Emomali Rahmon, the taken step can also give a serious impetus to the extension of advanced training courses for civil servants and to conduct fundamental research on public administration and public service.
