Today the President of the country Emomali Rahmon received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of India Somanahalli Mallaiah Krishna.
Somanahalli Mallaiah Krishna extended to Emomali Rahmon the invitation of the President and Prime Minister of India for paying an official visit to this country. As it was noted, the official visit of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to India scheduled for September current year will give an impetus to the friendly relations and multidimensional cooperation between the two countries.
The issues of political, economic, trade, security and military, cultural and educational cooperation of both states have been reviewed at the talk.
It was expressed satisfaction over the results of 20 years of Tajik-Indian diplomatic relations. It was particularly mentioned that during this period 35 intergovernmental and interdepartmental documents have been signed and thus created a good cooperation basis. Currently 5 joint enterprises are functioning and Varzob-1 power station is being reconstructed in Tajikistan with investment assistance of India.
Making reference to the visible results of cooperation, the sides also highlighted that there are still abundant untapped opportunities and resources in interaction between Tajikistan and India.
A constructive talk was also held regarding the international and regional issues of both countries, including in the framework of the United Nations, Shanghai Cooperation Organization, concerning the strengthening of peace and stability in Afghanistan, as well as the development of economic-trade cooperation through the territory of this country.
