Today, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon had a telephone conversation with the President of Russia Vladimir Putin.
During the talks the heads of both states discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation within strategic partnership with an emphasis on trade, economy, military, and certain pressing items on the international agenda.
While discussing the latest developments in Afghanistan, which could adversely affect the overall state of regional security, the interlocutors voiced their support for further coordination of bilateral and multilateral efforts to strengthen the protection of the Tajik-Afghan border and assist in the process of peaceful settlement of the Afghan conflict.
In view of this, they agreed to continue contacts and maintain close cooperation between the relevant ministries and agencies of the two countries in maintaining regional peace and stability.
