The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon visited the city of Tursunzoda to review its socio-economic development, and to take part in the opening of the facilities commemorating the 30th anniversary of independence.

His visit began with the opening ceremony of the first phase of the Aluminum Profile Production Plant where he laid the foundation stone for the construction of its second phase.

The newly established plant will be able to process 7,200 tonnes of aluminum per year and produce about 100 types of industrial products. The final product of the enterprise also has an export purpose, and in the first stage it is intended to be sold in the markets of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

This was followed by the opening ceremony of the new State Educational Institution Lyceum Boarding School in Tursunzoda, which is designed to accommodate 1,000 students in one shift, which in turn was followed by the opening ceremony of the Children's Art School State Institution of Education for 220 students.

Following the opening of the Children's Art School, President Rahmon noted that the teachers should guide the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism and respect for our national heritage.

While taking part in the opening ceremony of the Tursunzoda Cultural and Recreation Park, President Rahmon opened a three-story secondary education institution no. 49, which is designed to accommodate 850 students in two shifts, which is supplied with all necessary equipment. The recreation park features entertainment places for children, chess palace, and amphitheater, two playgrounds as well as children's swimming pool.

President Rahmon also attended the unveiling of the monument to one of the heroes of Tajikistan Mirzo Tursunzoda.

President Rahmon also inspected the grape harvesting campaign in the Bogi Somon viticulture farm. It is considered to be one of the largest vineyards in the country, and its employees have extensive experience in caring for vines and growing grapes.

In 2020, the farm exported 5.000 tons of grapes, this year a good harvest turned out – to date, more than 900 tons of products have been exported to the food market.

In addition, President Rahmon visited the Hoji Nemat farm, which specializes in grapes, potatoes, cucumbers, and tomatoes. This year, along with supplying the domestic market, about 500 tonnes of grapes was exported to nearby countries.

The farm has refrigeration facilities with enough room to house 1,000 tonnes of fruits and vegetables.
