Concluding of working trip to Sughd Province

The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon visited Spitamen of Sughd Province where he attended the opening ceremony of the Dairy Processing Plant in the Tursun Uljabaev community built by the Dushanbe Dairy Combine.

It manufactures and distributes 20 different dairy products. Its daily processing capacity is 20 tonnes of milk and of 1 tonne of milk powder. It currently employs 75 people.

This is the first domestic dry milk production company in the history of the country. Dry milk has been largely imported up until now. The company also plans to export its products.

While inspecting the cotton harvesting campaign in Saidmurod Sarkor farm, President Rahmon was informed that the total area dedicated to cotton in the district is 6,027 hectares, and the harvest so far has reached 6,572 tonnes, which is 47% of the plan.

In addition, as of September, the farmers in Spitamen harvested 15,550 tonnes of grain, 3,091 tonnes of vegetables, 1,586 tonnes of melons, more than 3,000 tonnes of potatoes, and 1,200 tonnes of corn from 15,028 hectares of arable land.

In addition, President Rahmon took part in the opening ceremony of the Textile Manufacturing Plant built by local entrepreneur Davronjon Akhmedov with development partners in Spitamen.

The plant produces a variety of towels, bathrobes for adults and children, children’s clothing, bedsheets, and other items. Production of such a range of products has been launched in the country for the first time.

The processing capacity of the plant is 1,500 tonnes of finished cotton products per year. The company has created 300 local jobs.

While visiting Jabbor Rasulov, particularly the Dehmoy community, President Rahmon took part in the foundation stone laying ceremony for the upcoming rehabilitation of the 50.5 Km Dehmoy-Bobojon Ghafurov-Konibodom road project.

The road will be rehabilitated by the government and its development partners, including the World Bank grant within the framework of the Fourth Phase of the Central Asia Regional Links Program for Tajikistan totaling of $50 million within three years.

While inspecting the dates and pomegranate harvesting campaign in Navruz farm in Jabbor Rasulov, President Rahmon visited Khujand and opened a three-story building of Pulotov non-governmental educational institution, built to accommodate 1200 students in two shifts.

This was followed by the opening ceremony of the multistory administrative building of the Prosecutor’s Office of Sughd Province, which in turn was followed by the opening ceremony of the Oxford International English School in Khujand. The school was built by a local entrepreneur Saidmurod Davlatov, and cost 17 million somoni. It consists of two four-storey buildings that will cater to 550 students.

The school has laboratories, a gym, an indoor swimming pool, and practical classrooms for students aged 12-13 and 14-18 years.

A group of high-qualified professionals from Great Britain, India, Philippines, Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Cameroon, and Canada has been invited to Tajikistan to teach in the school.

Concluding his visit, President Rahmon opened the Trout service center and restaurant.
