Today, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon had a telephone conversation with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
At the beginning of the conversation, the heads of state exchanged congratulations on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and Russia.
The Presidents noted with satisfaction the high level of bilateral relations based on good traditions of friendship and mutual respect.
The interlocutors highly appreciated the progressive development of relations in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as the current level of Tajik-Russian cooperation in the field of security.
During the conversation, the leaders of the two states discussed the development of the situation in Afghanistan and the situation on the Tajik-Afghan border, and exchanged views on other topical issues on the international and regional agenda.
