On April 14, the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon took part and spoke at the solemn festivities of the International Day of Navruz, which was held in the central stadium of Panjakent.
The President of the country Emomali Rahmon sincerely congratulated all the residents of Sughd region, including the ancient city of Panjakent on the occasion of the International Day of Navruz and expressed gratitude for the warm welcome.
Head of state Emomali Rahmon reflected on the history of Navruz and the traditions of this holiday and thanked the patriotic people of Sughd region and the city of Panjakent for honoring and continuing the traditions of their ancestors - creation and beautification.
President Emomali Rahmon recalled the rich ancient history of the proud Tajik state and nation, emphasizing that Panjakent is one of the ancient sites of our country. The city with its great production potential is one of the largest industrial regions of the country and makes a significant contribution to the development of the national economy.
According to the analysis and observations, the socio-economic situation of the city is improving year by year, and progress is being made in many areas. Over the years of independence, more than 80 new enterprises and workshops have been built in Panjakent city with the support of the Government and with the attraction of domestic and foreign investment, which contribute to the enrichment of local budgets, employment and raising incomes.
It should be noted that in the framework of the Program of socio-economic development of Panjakent city for 2021-2025, the implementation of 118 projects worth 1 billion 860 million Somoni is envisaged. At present, the Government of the country is implementing 8 investment projects in the city of Panjakent in the areas of strengthening education, water supply, commercialization of agriculture, improvement of electricity transmission systems and adaptation to climate change.
The President of the country Emomali Rahmon called the contribution of the residents of Panjakent city, especially patriotic entrepreneurs in the development of the city and the celebration of the 30th anniversary of state independence worthy of praise. Residents of the ancient city of Panjakent have built and commissioned 447 buildings and structures of various purposes on the eve of the great thirtieth anniversary of Tajikistan's state independence.
After the speech of the head of state, a grand cultural program was presented by the artists of the Sughd region, which glorified lasting peace and unity, state independence and rich history of Tajiks.
