The President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon has sent to the President of the Republic of India Pranab Mukherjee a congratulatory message on the occasion of the anniversary of independence of India, which reads in part:

“During many centuries our countries had multidimensional historical relations. This useful and great experience requires that in the present conditions we also develop our mutually beneficial and wide-ranging cooperation, as well as elevate its level to higher stages.  

The Republic of Tajikistan, as earlier, remains confident that the broad and mutually advantageous cooperation between the two friendly states not only answers their national interests, but also it is an important factor of regional stability, progress and prosperity. I am sure that both sides will take consistent efforts for promotion of this constructive process in future”.
