In the afternoon, the President of the country Emomali Rahmon received the Deputy Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States Cihan Sultanoğlu.

The issues of interaction of Tajikistan with the United Nations, first of all with its Development Programme have been considered during the meeting.

Much focus was paid to fruitful conducting of events devoted to the International Year of Water Cooperation and global action “Sustainable energy for all”.

With particular attention to the issue of preparations to the International Water Conference to be held under the UN auspices in August next year in Dushanbe, it was expressed confidence that this important event will give a serious impetus to addressing global challenges in this sphere.
