This morning the expanded meeting of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan has commenced its work under the chairmanship of the President of Tajikistan, Head of the Government of the country Emomali Rahmon, during which the achievements of 2012 have been analyzed and considered, as well as existing plans will be concretized for their fruitful fulfillment.

The chairmanship and members of the Government, leaders of departments under the President of Tajikistan and the Government of the country, officials of the Executive Office of the President, heads of regions, cities and districts, leaders of centers for implementation of investment projects, higher education institutions, banks and other officials have gathered in this meeting.

In his opening remarks the President of the country Emomali Rahmon stressed that the 2012 has been successful as the year of construction and beautification, despite the continued crisis in the world economy and other external negative factors. According to him, reforms have been continued for improvement of investment climate, development of private sector and entrepreneurship, access to commodity market, as well as macroeconomic stability in the country has been preserved.

At the beginning of the meeting the report of the Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov on the socio-economic achievements in 2012 has been heard. As it was mentioned, GDP (gross domestic product) in 2012 as a main macroeconomic indicator has increased for 7,5 % and has made up 6,1 billion TJS more compared to 2011, and in general its volume has reached 36,2 billion TJS, distributing per capita 4600 Somoni, which is for 17,7 % more in comparison to 2011.

The development of the domestic economy has been ensured mainly at the expense of industry (10,4%), agriculture (10,4%), retail trade (16,9%) and services (15,3%).

The inflation rate in the consumption market of the country has made up 6,4% in 2012.

In addition, leaders of ministries and departments for economic development and trade, finance, tax, customs, statistics, National Bank and Amonatbonk have reported on the indicators of economic, financial development and improvement of monetary and credit policy.
