Today, the President of the country Emomali Rahmon received the Senior Vice-President of the World Bank Kaushik Basu.

At the meeting issues of support of socio-economic development of Tajikistan and technical, economic, social and ecological expertise of the project for construction of Roghun HPP have been reviewed.

There was held a constructive talk on fruitful implementation of the Medium-Term Strategy of Tajikistan on enhancing living standards of population for 2013-2015, including through preservation of existing jobs, establishment of new jobs and prevention of negative influence of economic and financial crisis.

Moreover, the sides exchanged views on other aspects of relations between Tajikistan and the World Bank, including the ways to facilitate the development of regional cooperation in Central Asia.
