Meeting with Swiss State Secretary Yves Rossier

Today, President of the country Emomali Rahmon received the State Secretary of the Swiss Confederation Yves Rossier.

The issues of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Switzerland and multilateral ties, first of all in the framework of OSCE have been discussed at the meeting.

Head of state Emomali Rahmon expressed thanks to the leadership of the friendly country for regular supports of the Swiss Confederation to stable development of Tajikistan, including in the process of preparation for accession to the World Trade Organization.

Yves Rossier stressed a critical role of Tajikistan in the region and its longest border with Afghanistan, as well as added that the Swiss Confederation shall support Tajikistan in the margins of bilateral relations and in the framework of OSCE and other authoritative organizations, particularly after withdrawal of international security assistance forces from Afghanistan.

Yves Rossier informed that the chairmanship in 2014 in OSCE will pass to Swiss Confederation and in this regard his visit to Tajikistan aims at the study of cooperation areas with this country and its needs for international support.
