Official top-level negotiations between Tajikistan and Thailand have been held during a meeting between the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and the Prime Minister of Thailand Mrs. Yingluck Shinawatra.
The issues related to friendly relations and beneficial cooperation between the two countries in the areas of policy, economy and trade, investments and humanitarian sphere have been reviewed at the meeting.
Commodity exchange, investment, agriculture and melioration, tourism, education, activities of free economic zones, energy, light and food industries, as well as other domains of the economy were named among the directions of comprehensive cooperation.
It was considered necessary to open a direct air route between Dushanbe and Bangkok for the better development of relations between both states.
Following the official negotiations an intergovernmental agreement between Tajikistan and Thailand on Double Taxation Avoidance and Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with respect to Income and Capital, as well as Joint Communique on the results of official talks have been signed in the presence of President Emomali Rahmon and Thai Prime Minister Mrs. Yingluck Shinawatra.
