In the afternoon, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China Zhang Dejiang.

The issues related to further strengthening of political, legal and treaty basis of relations between Tajikistan and China, as well as inter-parliamentary ties have been discussed at the meeting.

Zhang Dejiang highly appraised an outstanding role of Emomali Rahmon in strengthening the bases of independent statehood of Tajikistan and establishing constructive cooperation with the People’s Republic of China.

It was expressed gratification over an unprecedented development of relations between Tajikistan and China, which is remarked in recent years in the spheres of policy, regional security, economy, trade, investment, culture, education, health, science and technology, as well as over the results of current state visit of the President of Tajikistan to the People’s Republic of China.
