Today, President Emomali Rahmon received the Resident Representative of the International Monetary Fund in Tajikistan Ari Aisen.
At the beginning of the meeting Ari Aisen introduced the new Resident Representative of the International Monetary Fund in Tajikistan Aydin Bibolov to the head of state Emomali Rahmon.
An exchange of views was held on the process of socio-economic development of Tajikistan, the effective ways of international support of developing factors and other issues of mutual interest.
It was noted with satisfaction that the gross domestic product of Tajikistan increased by 7,5% in 6 months of current year and the inflation rate has made up 1,6%.
Despite this, it was stressed that the Tajik economy needs international support for reduction of negative external impacts, while facing the world financial and economic crisis, including the increase of prices for oil products and foodstuffs.
To this end, both sides highlighted their interest in continuation and enhancement of mutually beneficial cooperation.
