Today, in great assembly hall of Kokhi Borbad a solemn gathering took place on the occasion of the 22^nd anniversary of Tajikistan.

This grand festivity event was opened by President Emomali Rahmon’s entering the hall and the rendition of National Anthem of Tajikistan.

Head of state Emomali Rahmon during his congratulatory address named the independence of Tajikistan as the best and most valuable good in the contemporary history of ancient and civilized Tajik nation, and felicitated the audience and people of the country, as well as all foreign compatriots on the 22^nd anniversary of this supreme achievement.

According to Emomali Rahmon, it is independence that made the Tajiks and state of Tajikistan to take their destiny in their hands.

President of the country Emomali Rahmon stressed that “ensuring of worthy living standards for the people in all periods of independence of Tajikistan was the supreme and main objective of the state and will further remain so”.

Head of state Emomali Rahmon, referring to preparation of the country for upcoming presidential elections to be held on 6 November current year, appealed on those who proposed their candidatures for this highest position to observe the supreme political culture and not to turn this important campaign into the field of intrigues and scandals. It was expressed confidence that the forthcoming elections of the President of Tajikistan will be conducted as previously in transparent and democratic way, and the people of the country will freely elect their future leader.
