Today, the President of the country Emomali Rahmon received a group of members of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly from Sweden and Denmark led by the member of its Defense Committee.

The meeting addressed the current issues and prospects of cooperation.

As it was mentioned, Tajikistan and OSCE carry out fruitful cooperation in three main directions – political and security, economic and ecological and human development.

Much attention was paid to the current situation and its prospects in Afghanistan, strengthening of protection and management of state border of Tajikistan with this neighboring country, fight against drug trafficking, elimination of problems to regional cooperation in Central Asia, mine clearing in the territory of Tajikistan and the enhancement of democracy and civil society.

It was noted with satisfaction that the issue of involvement of Afghanistan to the activities of OSCE as a cooperation partner was proposed by Tajikistan and gained an overall support.

Both sides stressed their interest in the expansion of cooperation in all mentioned fields and other sectors.
