Today, President Emomali Rahmon received the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Igor Shuvalov.

The current issues and prospects of military and technical cooperation, economic and trade, investment and energy interaction, labor migration and humanitarian ties have been reviewed at the meeting.

Igor Shuvalov briefed the Head of Tajik State Emomali Rahmon on the regular session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Trade and Technical Cooperation between the two countries as well as expressed satisfaction over its results.

It should be recalled that a part of the agreements on the extension of stay of Russian military base in Tajikistan until 2042, export of oil products of Russia to Tajikistan without collection of customs duties and simplification of conditions of stay and work of labor migrants of Tajikistan in Russia have been ratified and another part is on the eve of ratification.

As it was emphasized, according to the agreement on the labor conditions of the citizens of both countries in each other’s territories the term of license for work should be extended from current 1 year to 3 years.

As it was noted, the exchange of documents on the ratification of these agreements which will mean their entry into force will be held by the heads of both states – Emomali Rahmon and Vladimir Putin.

During the meeting, referring to strategic relations and alliance between Tajikistan and Russia, both sides accentuated their interest in further expansion of cooperation.
