The President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon sent a telegram of condolences to the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping, which reads, in particular:

"Your Excellency,

It was with deep sorrow and great indignation that I found the news on the treacherous terrorist attack on civilians in China’s Kunming City railway station, which resulted in the loss of human life and a large number of victims.

This tragedy once again proves the truth that ruthless struggle against this scourge – terrorism, is the primary and shared responsibility of all mankind. We in Tajikistan are ready to make every effort, together with the international community, to eradicate this evil.

I ask you, dear Mr. President, to accept our sincere and deep condolences over the tragedy and transmit our sympathy to the relatives and friends of the deceased. Sharing your pain, today we are with you.”
