Today’s programme of official visit of the President of Latvia Andris Berzins to Tajikistan began with solemn ceremony of official reception in front of the Palace of Nation.

The consideration of issues related to the development of friendly relations and beneficial cooperation commenced first at the tete-a-tete meeting of heads of both states – Emomali Rahmon and Andris Berzins.

It should be reminded that during state visit of President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to Latvia in February 2009 4 cooperation documents were signed and it was announced that Tajikistan can be the gate of Latvia to South Asia and Latvia can serve as Tajikistan’s window to Europe.
