This morning President Emomali Rahmon received the ministers of foreign affairs of Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states. 

It should be reminded that ministers of foreign affairs of all SCO member countries have arrived in Dushanbe to attend their regular meeting.

Head of state Emomali Rahmon stated at the beginning of his conversation that "Tajikistan considers the regular session of foreign ministers of SCO as one of the principal events of its presidency year in this organization".

It was expressed confidence that this meeting will determine the subjects and main substance of SCO Summit to be held in September in Dushanbe.

Head of Tajik state with reference to the goals of Tajikistan's SCO presidency stated in particular: "this organization possesses wide untapped opportunities in the path to turning our region into the area of peace, stability, prosperity and sustainable development" and stressed: "facilitation of fruitful implementation of these opportunities is from among Tajikistan's main presidency goals".

President Emomali Rahmon reminded about security, political and economic measures and stated that "we should have a single and coordinated position in combatting modern threats".

In respect to the development of economic and trade cooperation it was stated that "in the near future the coordination of factors to organize and commission the Development Fund (Special Account) and SCO Development Bank should be fulfilled".
