Today, President Emomali Rahmon received the World Bank Regional Director for Central Asia Saroj Kumar Jha and new Representative of WB in Tajikistan Patricia Veevers-Carter.
At the beginning of the conversation, Saroj Kumar Jha introduced new Representative of the Bank in Tajikistan Patricia Veevers-Carter to the Head of state Emomali Rahmon.
During the meeting a constructive exchange of views took place on the ways of implementation of new Strategy of cooperation of the World Bank with Tajikistan for 2015-2018 which envisages the allocation of 255 mln. USD, mainly in grant form.
It was noted with satisfaction that currently 14 investment projects at the amount of 232 mln. USD are being implemented under the supervision of the World Bank in Tajikistan with consideration of means of trust funds, that is important for ensuring economic and social stability in Tajikistan. These projects are aimed at the reforms in the spheres of public administration, private sector and macroeconomy, infrastructure, energy, agriculture, education, healthcare, water supply, administration of tax system and land cadastre.
