Today, President Emomali Rahmon received the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev.

The sides discussed issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia in the field of security.

Particular attention was paid to the current and future situation in Afghanistan, strengthening the protection of the state border of Tajikistan with this southern neighboring country, cooperation in the field of preventing and combating the threats of terrorism, extremism, drug smuggling, weapons and military equipment, as well as information security.

A constructive conversation also took place on issues of regional and international security.
