At the meeting between President Emomali Rahmon and the Chairman of the Islamic Development Bank Ahmad Muhammad Ali were discussed the current state and prospects of further cooperation of Tajikistan with this influential financial institution.
It was stressed that the Islamic Development Bank for many years of bilateral cooperation contributed to Tajikistan concessional loan and technical assistance amounting to more than 210 million US dollars, which are aimed at the realization of important investment projects in various socio-economic sectors. Many other projects due to the amount of IDB 145 million US dollars are now being implemented in the areas of energy, transport, water, health and education.
A.M. Ali, praising the role of Tajikistan and President Emomali Rahmon in helping to address the problems of the Muslim countries, especially neighboring Afghanistan, reiterated the willingness of IDB to participate in financing regional projects such as power line CASA-1000, the railroad Tajikistan-Afghanistan-Turkmenistan, etc.
A constructive conversation was also held on other relevant issues.
