The course and results of the Tajik-Czech top-level talks

Discussion of issues related to the development of friendly relations and expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation of Tajikistan and the Czech Republic began at a tete-a-tete meeting between the two presidents. President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in the beginning of the meeting stated that "the Czech Republic has a special place in our foreign policy, as mutually beneficial relations existed between the two republics even before Tajikistan's obtaining its independence".

It was expressed confidence in further expansion of mutually beneficial relations in the field of politics and security, economy and trade, investment and culture.

Milos Zeman, in his turn, recalling his activities in Dushanbe in the 80s of the last century, expressed his satisfaction with the sustainable development of Tajikistan. President of the Czech Republic M. Zeman, in particular, noted that "you managed to do the works, which many other countries failed to fulfill. In a short time you put an end to the civil war, defeating terrorism".

M. Zeman, pointing to the big plans of economic development of Tajikistan, stressed that there is a scope for the establishment and expansion of multilateral cooperation with the Czech Republic. The distinguished guest expressed confidence that his official visit to Tajikistan will give a new impetus to the further expansion of relations between the two friendly countries.

During the discussion of the prospects for cooperation, which continued at high level formal negotiations in the extended format, was held a constructive consideration of the expansion of political, economic, trade and cultural ties and cooperation in the field of security.

Recalling the fruitful activity of the Czechoslovak company KOVO, Technopol, Polytechnic and TATASISTEM in Tajikistan in the 90s of the last century, there was expressed confidence in the present and the future expansion and deepening of mutually beneficial trade, economic and investment ties between the two countries. Also among the main topics of conversation were issues of regional and global importance, including the situation in Afghanistan and elsewhere in the world.

According to the results of official meetings and negotiations three new documents on cooperation were signed with the participation and in the presence of the two presidents.

Joint Declaration was signed by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of the Czech Republic Milos Zeman.

In addition, a protocol was signed on cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, as well as the Agreement between the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic on cooperation in the field of health and medical sciences.

During the press conference, the two leaders - Emomali Rahmon and Milos Zeman, expressing satisfaction with the results of official meetings and negotiations, stressed the strong interest of the two countries in further strengthening and deepening of friendly relations and multifaceted cooperation.

Milos Zeman invited Emomali Rahmon to visit the Czech Republic for a return official visit.
