February 10, in the afternoon, President Emomali Rahmon received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Erlan Abdyldaev, who arrived in Tajikistan on an official visit.
The meeting discussed issues of multifaceted cooperation between the two neighboring countries, including in the areas of policy, regional security, trade, economy, science and culture.
Particular attention was paid to the delimitation and demarcation of the border between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan in the disputed areas.
A constructive exchange of views was held on the draft bilateral agreement on confidence-building measures at the border between the two countries.
The parties stressed their interest in continuing cooperation in this area and in the prevention of any provocative action.
The need was stressed to continue the strong partnership of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan to address various regional issues, including on the use of water and energy, transport and transit, trade and economic resources for the benefit of the two friendly and neighboring peoples, as well as our good-neighborliness.
