President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon sent a telegram of condolences to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong, which reads, in particular:

"Your Excellency,

I was sad to find the news of decease of former Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore, "Father of nation" - Lee Kuan Yew.

The deceased was an outstanding and successful statesman, "creator of Singapore miracle" and one of the greatest personalities of the country, region and the world. It is thanks to reform-aimed fruitful activities of this great son of political world in this post, during the obtaining of independence, the Republic of Singapore was transformed from an underdeveloped country to a developed state of the Asian region.

In these difficult moments, I express my deep condolences on behalf of the Government and people of Tajikistan to friendly people of Singapore. I express you, Your Excellency, relatives and close friends of your deceased father my sincere sympathy".
