Today, President Emomali Rahmon received the Acting Chairman of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), the First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic.
President Emomali Rahmon during the conversation, first said: "We consider the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe as the largest regional security organization, and cooperation with it is one of the priorities of Tajikistan's foreign policy". The OSCE's role in conflict prevention, crisis management and addressing post-conflict reconstruction was also praised.
From this point of view, it was expressed confidence that the role of the OSCE will be noticeable in crisis prevention and elimination of artificial barriers to the development of regional constructive cooperation in Central Asia.
Particular attention was paid to cooperation in the direction of strengthening the protection of the state border with Afghanistan to prevent terrorist and extremist threats, the fight against drug trafficking.
Issues related to the development of democracy and civil society, human rights and freedom of the press were also among the main topics of conversation.
Constructive discussions also took place on the expansion of bilateral ties between Tajikistan and Serbia.
