Working meeting

This morning the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held a working meeting with members of the Security Council of the country, heads of law enforcement, defense and military agencies, the Agency for Drug Control and the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption, as well as commander of the Border Troops of the country.

At the meeting, given the current situation in the international community, especially in neighboring Afghanistan, were discussed issues of state border protection, the fight against terrorism, extremism and drug trafficking.

To ensure the protection of the state border between Tajikistan and Afghanistan, increasing the combat readiness of units and formations of the Armed Forces, especially the Border Troops, was instructed where appropriate attraction of persons in reserve personnel of the Armed Forces and other military structures.

President Emomali Rahmon, also expressed concern about drug trafficking, and set specific objectives for decision-makers to strengthen the fight against it.

In addition, were given tasks to strengthen the fight against corruption, declared one of the priorities of public policy of Tajikistan.
