Meeting with CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha

Today, President of the country Emomali Rahmon received the Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Nikolai Bordyuzha.

The sides discussed issues related to the chairmanship of Tajikistan in the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the preparation work for the next summit of Heads of States of this organization, which will be held in September this year in Dushanbe, as well as other important issues.

Nikolai Bordyuzha highly appreciated the process and content of the CSTO presidency in Tajikistan, and in particular, he said that the next summit of Heads of States of the organization in Dushanbe will be expected to bring encouraging results.

A constructive discussion was held on the implementation of the results of heads of CSTO member states on September 23, 2013 for the provision of operational assistance to the Republic of Tajikistan to strengthen the border with Afghanistan.

They also exchanged views on the current situation and the future of Afghanistan and other hotspots of the world, as well as on strengthening the joint struggle against the spread of terrorism, extremism and other regional and international threats and challenges.

The sides expressed confidence that cooperative measures designed by CSTO member states will play an effective role in maintaining stability in the region.
