The King of Malaysia Al-Mutassim Billah Muhibbuddin Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah ibni Sultan Badlishah sent a congratulatory message to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan on the occasion of 20th anniversary since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which reads in particular:

The President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon has sent a congratulatory message to the King of Malaysia Al-Mutassim Billah Muhibbuddin Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah ibni Sultan Badlishah on the occasion of 20th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and Malaysia, which reads in part:
Today, the President of the country Emomali Rahmon heard the telephone reports of the chairmen of cities and districts of Kulob, Vose’, Hamadoni, Mu’minobod, Khovaling, Baljuvon, Temurmalik, Isfara, Konibodom, Aini and Kuhistoni Mastchoh.
The heads of these cities and districts reported on the results of economic and financial activities in the first quarter of current year, the course of spring sowing, elimination of consequences of floods and other natural disasters, and other issues of interest.
Today, the President of the country Emomali Rahmon heard the telephone reports of chairmen of cities and districts of Farkhor, Danghara, Yovon, Bokhtar, Vakhsh, Khuroson, Jaloliddini Rumi, Qumsangir, Jilikul, Panj, Qubodiyon, Shahritus, Nosiri Khusrav, Abdurahmoni Jomi and Sarband regarding the course of spring sowing, erection of gardens, summing up of the first quarter of the current year, improvement and beautification works.
Today, the President of the country Emomali Rahmon received the Leader of Ismailites of the world Karim Aga Khan IV.
The issues related to life of Ismailites of Tajikistan, current state and prospects of enhancement of cooperation with Aga Khan Development Network have been considered at the meeting.
Karim Aga Khan IV expressed his appreciation to Head of State Emomali Rahmon over an official registration of Cultural Ismailite Centre in Dushanbe and highlighted this act as an evidence of freedom of religion and tolerance in Tajikistan.
Today, President Emomali Rahmon received the Commander of the United States Central Command James Mattis.
The issues pertaining to multi-aspect cooperation between Tajikistan and U.S. have been reviewed at the meeting.
With appreciation over the fruitful interaction between the military and security structures of both countries in international fight against terrorism and extremism, the sides discussed the ways of strengthening and expanding further cooperation.
At the end of the Fifth Regional Economic Cooperation Conference on Afghanistan the Head of state Emomali Rahmon received the Special Representatives of European Union on Afghanistan and Central Asia Vygaudas Usackas and Pierre Morel.
An exchange of views has been held on the implementation of EU Strategy for Central Asia and ways of elimination of artificial barriers in cooperation enhancement in this region.
The issues of developing cooperation between Tajikistan and Qatar have been reviewed at the meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of State of Qatar Ali bin Fahd al-Hajri.
It was expressed confidence that the construction of a great mosque in Dushanbe and Residential and Commercial Complex “Diyori Dushanbe” with financial Qatari support will be only the commencement of comprehensive economic, trade and investment cooperation of Tajikistan and Qatar.
During the meeting with the Head of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Director of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy in Central Asia Miroslav Jenca expressed hope that the documents to be adopted in this conference will actively favor the elimination of difficulties and obstacles blocking the regional cooperation.
