Today the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon sent a congratulatory telegram to the President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Zillur Rahman. The message reads, in particular:

“Your Excellency,

I am honoured to convey you my sincere felicitations and best wishes on the occasion of the remarkable date in the history of contemporary relationships between the Republic of Tajikistan and the People’s Republic of Bangladesh – the 20th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations.

Today, the President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Zillur Rahman addressed a congratulatory telegram to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, which reads, in particular:

It is my great pleasure to convey to Your Excellency my warmest congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and Tajikistan.

Today, the President of the country Emomali Rahmon received Great Britain’s Minister of State for the Armed Forces Nick Harvey.

The current state and prospects of Tajik-British relationships have been reviewed at the meeting.

Today, the President of the country Emomali Rahmon held a working meeting on improvement and beautification works, spring sowing and preparation for the International Day of Nawruz.

At the beginning, the functionaries of country’s Government, Presidential Executive Office and heads of other relevant structures briefed the President on the mentioned and other subjects of interest.

The President of the country Emomali Rahmon received the Head of International Monetary Fund Group Todd Schneider.

The current state and ways of further support of socio-economic development of Tajikistan have been considered during the talks.

Both parties expressed satisfaction over the results and prospects of socio-economic development of Tajikistan, which are obvious in spite of impact of negative external factors.

Today, the meeting of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan was held under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Head of country’s Government Emomali Rahmon.

The President of the country Emomali Rahmon received the First Vice President of Export-Import Bank of the People’s Republic of China Zhu Hongjie in the second half of day.

The issues of bilateral cooperation have been discussed at the meeting.

Today in the second half of the day a telephone talk has been held between the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and the President of Russian Federation Dmitriy Medvedev at the initiative of the Russian side.

The heads of states discussed a range of issues of bilateral relations of their countries and prospects of their further development in various spheres of cooperation.

The parties also exchanged views on situation in the world and the region.

Today, the President of the country Emomali Rahmon signed a decree on granting money awards to the Tajik sportsmen, who will win the first, second and third places in the 30th Olympic Games (London-2012).

According to decree of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan a sum of 300 thousand Somoni will be determined for one winner of gold medal, 250 thousand Somoni of award for a winner of silver medal and 200 thousand Somoni for bronze.

President of the country Emomali Rahmon held a celebration meeting with the leadership of security, defence and law enforcement agencies on the eve of marking the 19th anniversary of establishment of the Armed Forces of Tajikistan.
